The Best Network Anywhere and Full Traffic Disclosure to Prove It.
Fundamentally, a host's bandwidth cost is one of
their largest expenses. Mojohost has over 60 full gigabit of direct transit (bandwidth) connectivity and 2 gigabit peering connections divided between two fully redundant core Cisco Catalyst 6500s. Bandwidth, although a commodity, does have
measurable levels of quality and performance. Therefore, not all
bandwidth is created equal. Further complicating a complete understanding
of cost versus performance is the concept that how a host manages
their bandwidth can make even quality bandwidth perform poorly.
A practical example of this would be if a host chooses to over-sell
their network or limit any one client's access in lieu of allowing
it to burst as traffic requests increase. More often than not, there are bad hosting companies and not global networks.
Network performance can be fast or slow depending
on any number of variables. Your goal is to ultimately purchase
quality bandwidth from a host who does not use any tricks to "shape"
traffic through rate limiting or over-selling their network's maximum
throughput. The best hosts purchase bandwidth from a multitude of Tier 1 global carriers and blend it intelligently, as we do using the Internap Flow Control Platform 10G device for managing our BGP routing tables. This addition to our network is for the sole purpose of managing our BGP table and measuring performance across all connected networks constantly to the surfers that are viewing your web sites and makes changes automatically when it sees packet loss and better routes across other carriers in our blend.
We purchase our bandwidth directly from many of the world's largest and most resiliant networks. We have a policy of only entering into direct relationships and connections to carriers so you are guaranteed that our relationships are protected and bandwidth is never purchased from a reseller or aggregator of bandwidth. We operate inside of our own ARIN assigned IPv4 and IPv6 space (AS:27589) and currently are multihomed on the following networks:

Why is quality bandwidth important to you? The reasons
are varied and complex. In the most basic explanation there are
many traffic exchanges taking place over networks around the world
before a surfer to connects to your website's. It is important that
your data is delivered with priority on the fastest possible routes
and, by definition, that is what Tier One providers accomplish. Surfers are impatient. Poor web site performance and
load times will absolutely result in fewer sales and lower levels
of customer satisfaction with their surfing experience.
We take quality one step further with the introduction of the Internap Flow Control Platform 10G device into our network. All carriers give us their full internet routing table and we process this information using the Flow Control Platform to do constant performance analysis and round-trip measurement from our network across the highest traffic routes surfing MojoHost.
MojoHost has two gigabit of connectivity to the Terremark peering fabric.
There are currently 78 companies on the Terremark public peering fabric and MojoHost has a long term goal of expanding it's direct connectivity to as many as participants as possible. Current direct network connections include Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Comsat, Linkline Communications, INIT7, Host.net, Peer1 Network, Akamai Technologies, Limelight Networks, Terremark, Prolexic Technologies, Verisign and many more. A peering connection is a direct link between two networks and this is accomplished at our site via the multi-terrabit public peering fabric that we pay for connectivity to. Connections between networks are private, secure and negotiated individually.
The majority of hosts don't buy bandwidth
directly from the source.
MojoHost is proud that all of it's carrier connections are direct relationships with direct connections to each provider. We purchase no bandwidth from brokers, aggregators or resellers. Many other companies do not choose to have our level of sophistication and network complexity. This introduces many unknown variables
ranging from the financial viability of each link in the chain to
the performance risks involved having your servers so far from the
source of the bandwidth. Are you willing to risk being 2, 3 or 4
companies separated from a Tier One provider in today's economy?
Our advice? Ask potential hosts the hard questions
and follow your instincts in addition to whatever facts you are
able to dig up. If your livelihood depends on hosting success, we
recommend that you ask any potential host for multiple client references
who would be happy to speak with you. You need a host who will respond
quickly and with every conceivable resource until problems are fixed.
You need a host with a relentless work ethic, above all else. Choose
wisely!
